When you apply for an SME loan, you need to give the lender some supporting documents (including your Form 26AS) along with your business loan application. The lender uses these documents to conduct a credit assessment of your financial needs and decide whether to approve your loan request.
While the list of required documents may change depending on the lender you apply with, documentation about your TDS and TCS is something almost all lenders will require.
To get this information, you can download your Form 26AS.
What is Form 26AS?
Form 26AS is your Tax Credit Statement for IT Returns filed in a given financial year. It provides information about your various sources of income and includes the following information:
- Tax deducted on your income by deductors
- Details of tax collected by collectors
- Advance tax paid by you
- Self-assessment tax payments
- Regular assessment tax deposited by you
- Details of refund received during the financial year
- Details of other high-value transactions done during the financial year
